Safety & Security
Your child's safety is our number one concern. We want all parents and guardians to know that their child is in safe hands when attending 6th grade camp.
Counselors:
The counselors are with the campers every moment of the week. Our counselors go through an interview process to be chosen to attend camp so we know we have chosen the best people to work with your children for the week. The counselors also go through an all day training three weeks before camp, and the counselors and staff arrive at camp a day and a half before the campers for additional training to be prepared for the campers. We have a wide range of experienced counselors at camp, some are first years, some are tenth years and everything in between. The counselors work as a team to ensure the campers are well cared for.
Teachers:
For additional comfort the camper's teachers also attend camp and participate in the day group activities daily. This provides additional comfort for the campers and additional support for the counselors and staff. We want you to know your camper is secure while at 6th grade camp.
Cabin Duty:
In each cabin group there is one counselor on duty each day. What this means is when they wake up they stay at the cabin all morning (don't worry a fellow counselor will bring them breakfast) the ensure all the campers wake up on time and are properly prepared for the day ahead. In the morning the cabin duty counselor is the last person to leave the cabin. When day groups finish the same counselor is to head back to their cabin immediately and be there for the campers until the evening activity. Again, that counselor will be brought dinner and is the last to leave the cabin area before the evening activity. Once the evening activity is finished the counselor is to remain in the cabin all night.
Bed Checks:
At night the staff and teachers complete bed checks multiple times throughout the night to ensure all campers and counselors are safe and secure in their cabins. Bed checks happen several times throughout the night.

Nurse's Station & First AidThe nurse's station is located in the central area of camp. A nurse is available 24 hours a day. All visitors must check in at the nurse’s station.
Campers needing first aid, homesick campers, campers that require any other special assistance should be taken to the nurse. Homesickness is a problem that occurs frequently at camp. The nurses have vast experience dealing with the symptoms of homesickness. It is important that teachers and counselors allow the nurses to evaluate the severity of the problem, and determine independently the best course of treatment. |
BedtimesCampers and counselors are given a curfew to follow each night. We enforce a nightly curfew to ensure the campers and counselors are receiving the rest they need daily.

Food & Diet Meals are provided three times daily for campers, counselors, staff, teachers and guests. We have a very lively kitchen crew who always keep meal times exciting and fun.
If your child has a food allergy and/or requires certain dietary accommodations please be sure to indicate on your child's health form and inform your child's instructor. Please do not send your campers with food to camp. It often attracts four legged friends and has resulted in torn luggage in the past. |
